I wish that there were half stars as I might have given this a 4.5 - but considering how much I look forward to the next instalment I wanted my rating to reflect how much I love these books overall.The author does such a good job developing the main characters that as a reader I want their stories to continue in greater depth. I wish that there had been 2 full novels on Cory, 2 on Regina and 2 on Willow. Hopefully those night be in future works!I loved the mythology attached to this book and the themes of trust, fear that leads to silence and building relationships.The main thing I didn't like was that Regina stood by and let a horse that wasn't even fully hers be abused without speaking up . She spoke up in Cory 's story and though she felt that her life was out of control and not in her own hands, it didn't seem true to her character. I also wondered why she would bring the horse into a barn where Wade had daily access to them - in order to keep it safe?But those were the only negative thoughts I had and I eagerly look forward to the next book(s?) in the series.
